This VR project documents the spiritual connections interviewees have with structures from their childhood. Inspired by Gaston Bachelard's The Poetics of Space, the project explores the relationship between intimate spaces and the human psyche, subconscious, dreams, and memories. The participants were invited to describe specific structural spaces from their childhood and narrate the stories behind them.
Using VR and Unity VFX, I apply particles to highlight these spatial structures across several complex scenes. With a VR headset and controllers, users roam through the reconstructed virtual space, capturing the reconnection between poetic spaces and profound dreams.
As Gaston Bachelard states in The Poetics of Space: the house shelters daydreaming, protects the dreamer, and allows one to dream in peace.
